Rally Room

Welcome to the Columbia Ridge Rally Room!

Teaching children to read is one of the most important things we do at Columbia Ridge Elementary. Students in grades 1-4 visit the reading room to increase their reading achievement and to develop their love of reading. Our staff provides one on one or small group instruction designed to help each child succeed.

Current Happenings

We are currently busy administering our Fall Reading Screening. Grades K-4 are given benchmark screening assessments 3x/year. We use this information to determine which students may need extra help in reading. We then further diagnose these students' reading abilities and develop instructional intervention plans for them. This involves frequent assessment used to monitor the student's progress during the intervention and to drive our instruction. Thus, it is a cyclical process: screen, diagnose, intervene, assess.

Parent/ Community Volunteers

We love to have volunteers in the Rally Room. We will begin using parent/community volunteers on October 14th. Please see the flyer on this page for more information or contact Ronda Billingsley at 754-2882 ext.1530, or rbillingsley@ephrataschools.org.
